We had a great stay at the Scrimshaw even though it was the week Hurricane Erin came through! Great views, nice updated condo, plenty of plates, cups, pots and pans. Plenty of room to spread out. Our pup had a great time too! I’d say the only negatives were: the washer and dryer were very old, and super loud. We had to run them when we were leaving the condo. Also, the a/c in the front bedroom didn’t do a great job. We don’t realize until the last day, that the bedroom near the kitchen was freezing, and the front bedroom was warm. All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely return!!!

Our condo was perfect for us. We had plenty of room for 2 teenagers, 2 adults and our dog. Everything was clean and decorated nicely. The views were amazing and we had easy access to the beach. We hope to stay there again on our next visit.

Excellent Location

The property did not disappoint us. It has direct beach access and great setting areas on the deck. The kitchen could use fewer glassware and more serving size bowls. It would have been nice to have some beach chairs available at the property to sit at the beach.

Great Accommodations

We really enjoyed staying at the condo. It was roomy, had a beautiful view, the deck was huge and deck furniture was comfortable. The beach was close. We are were on 2nd floor and beach access was in front of the other building, making for a little longer, steeper walk. It would be nice to have rails or a deck path to walk on for older folks. Beds were fine. Kitchen decently equipped..too many glasses, not enough larger serving bowls, plastic storage containers. BUT we are returning. We loved it!

Dolphin watching

The location of this property is the biggest plus! It is right on the beach and there are restaurants that are walkable if you choose to do that. It is right on the beach, so much so we also canceled our wagon we rented but glad we kept it because we took a lot to the beach! My mom was with us and she’s can struggle with stairs but was able to get up the stairs and the dunes were manageable for her as well. I was worried about previous reviews because my smelling sense is very sensitive and people said it was musty/mildewy. I’m happy to report while I was there, I did not smell this at all. I will say when we returned home, some of the clothes brought home clean did smell but they also road home 8 hrs in the back of a humid truck. We saw dolphins everyday and I’m confident that this unit was the best of the development because you had a perfect view of the ocean and there was a roof when it rained you could sit out and look at the ocean.The kitchen had sufficient items in able to cook.They obviously use a service for towels and they give you the minimum of what you need, so you’ll need to do laundry during the week, which we didn’t mind because the machines are in the unit. The porch was very spacious with two sides, there is a shared stairwell down the middle to get to the beach. There is a Kuerig at the little coffee bar in the unit. You can tell this unit is in a phase of remodeling, some of the stuff is dated and other parts are redone. Beds could use mattress toppers!

The location was perfect, on the beach. Linens were clean but was pretty dusty and grimey. Had all the essentials. I would’ve brought a fan or two as there are none in the house and it gets quite stagnant.

The condo is very well kept, and well appointed - it had everything we needed. Phenomenal location as well. The owner and Coastal were great to work with and made the entire process very easy. Cannot recommend this enough!

Wonderful view!

On the beach! Beautiful view! Dunes in front of unit a little hard to navigate for seniors but could not ask for a closer location to the beach. Woke every morning to the sound of the ocean and beautiful sunrise. We love the deck and enjoyed our morning tea while watching the dophins. Would gladly stay there again..

In serious need of deep cleaning and upgrading

Extremely Musty smell Bloodstained sheets Dirty bedspread Filthy windows Screen door sticks Security latch Lock broken Dishwasher doesn’t dry dishes Stained carpet Mildew on shower curtain liner & ripped Can’t lock door and access beach We've been seriously sick from mold toxins since our stay. The smell from this property is offensive and unhealthy with mold and mildew. We left the windows open to try to clear out the smell. The furniture is very old and outdated and also musty smelling. When we reported the bloodstained sheets, a lady changed them. She decided to take the bedspread also because it was so dirty. We had to purchase a blanket. The windows were so dirty you couldn't see outside. We bought towels and cleaner but were not able to clean sufficiently. A team came over to clean the windows. They did a very good job - this should have been done prior to our arrival. Twice our stay was interrupted by people stopping by to fix things. There is no way to lock the condo and access the beach. This is a safety concern. We were told to use public beach access and exit the front door. Guests should not be required to leave property unlocked going to the beach. This view is very nice but the long list of issues far outweighs it. These problems cost us time and money and dampened the enjoyment we had hoped for. We would like these issues to be addressed and a good will compensation gesture extended. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Absolutely as described. Very quick help with minor issues that’s happens in homes. Never was a disruption. View is worth all the $$. The 2 decks were our favorite!

Location, Location, Location

Goods: The property was great based on the location. Convenient to the beach (walk off the deck, Avalon Pier, convenient to stores, etc. Property management very accommodating and responsive. Bass: only one shower, limited cooking between pots, pans, and utensils. BBQs are community property in common area, Not convenient for cooking family meals.

Get stay, amazing location and views, right on the beach

This was the first time we took our kids to the beach. They had a blast, they were out there playing in the waves and on the beach 4 days in a row. Weather was great, even when it rained for a few hours, it was such a relaxing, peaceful place.
