Wonderfully secluded escape
Glenterry is located in a secluded area of Dumfries & Galloway less than 10 minutes drive between Gatehouse of Fleet and Kirkcudbright. It is a very quiet area with the only other property for miles a couple of hundred yards away.
The house was spotlessly clean, centrally heated and had all the amenities we needed for our stay.
There is a twin bedroom downstairs and a separate wet room with toilet that requires a walk through the living room and kitchen to reach from the bedroom. Both of these are large and suitable for those with limited mobility - one of our party has Parkinson's and managed fine.
Upstairs there are 2 large bedrooms with a large bathroom that has a walk-in shower. There is also a smaller room with comfortable armchairs for hanging out in.
For eating out, I would recommend the Ship Inn and Masonic Arms in Gatehouse of Fleet, The Selkirk Arms in Kirkcudbright, The Old Schoolhouse on the A75 and Ernespie in Castle Douglas.
