Hotel Mayview

« The place was not clean and smelled like a damp basement with paint peeling in the corner of the room. The toilet was not attached to the floor, and the Television did not work. The bed was really comfortable though. »

« Warned by two different locals, one being a law enforcement, not to stay here. It wasn’t named correctly. Some sketchy people around the site. We didn’t stay here so I don’t know if it was clean or if the staff were nice. We were advised to go to Warrensburg or Sedalia. »

« Our stay was not great. The hotel and room both smelled like dog, the room was not especially clean, and we had ants in our room. The bathroom door frame was loose and made a very loud noise every time the door opened. Breakfast was also sub-par. The biggest concern was that staff told someone else what room we were staying in. Even though it was someone we knew, that felt like a real breach of privacy and trust. There were some positives: the room had a Keurig and fridge, the waffle maker was...

« This is a great little place to stay between KC and STL. Its in a small quiet town with a few places to eat. The hotel has been renovated and my room was clean and comfortable. Support this local business! »

« We stopped for one night on our way through the area. The owner was just lovely. We had a nice conversation. We didn’t need any extra help, but I am confident that he would’ve been super helpful had we needed anything! »

« An older property, but has been well-remodeled. Staff was extremely helpful. Rooms were very comfortable. »

« This was my 2nd stay here and planning to stay again in the future. Continental breakfast is still quick and filling with a variety of choices. Maybe biscuits and gravy would be a welcome addition. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I was impressed by the brightly lit parking lot. I feel very safe staying here. »

« This was a scary stay. I told my kids that I thought that I was staying at the Bates Motel (google the movie Psycho if you are not familiar). It is in a desolate area and gave off a creepy vibe. The parking lot has huge potholes. The room itself was pretty good. I have no complaints there. No coffee or breakfast available in the morning. Good internet connection, which was an issue with other hotels that I have stayed at. I would not stay here again. »

« I reserved 2 adjoining rooms. Everything seemed fine. Got up in the morning and the room I was in had a couple ants in the tub. A little bit later saw a few more in tub. Killed them. We went out for a few hours and when we came back the bathroom tub was covered with ants and on the shower curtain and floor. Contacted front desk. Someone came up promptly to spray and told us there should be no further problems. Got up in the morning. Still ants. Then noticed them crawling on our beds (2 queen...

« I have no idea how this property has a good rating on the Expedia site. That was not our experience. The room was not clean with wrappers on the floor and a dirty towel on the shelf. We arrived later in the evening and when we got up the next morning all I wanted just wanted to get out of there. I did speak with the staff and she said I should have asked for another room. Lesson learned. No apology. »
