★ Fantastic host, quick replies and incredible recommendations.
The French Quarter is New Orleans’ oldest and most expensive neighborhood, but homeowners who seek its densely urban layout, historic appeal, and walkability can find those same attributes in the neighboring Marigny Triangle. In some ways, the Marigny Triangle is superior to the French Quarter: sandwiched between the Vieux Carre and the trending Bywater, it enjoys proximity to amenities in both neighborhoods. This home is ideally located only a short distance to numerous New Orleans landmarks, including The Spotted Cat Music Club (0.7 Miles), Jackson Square (1.1 Miles), JAMNOLA (1.0 Miles), and Caesar's Superdome/Smoothie King Center (2.5 Miles).
Faubourg Marigny
Residents of the Faubourg (an ancient French term for "suburb") Marigny are very proud of their neighborhood...and who can blame them?
Here in this small wedge of real estate located just downriver from the French Quarter, you'll find everything that makes New Orleans a uniquely wonderful place. The jazz clubs lining Frenchmen Street are world-famous, and every night you can hear big-name acts jamming with the hippest stars of tomorrow. The Marigny is home to some of the city's trendiest restaurants: places where new chefs constantly reinvent the city's cuisine. Neighborhood galleries and antique stories offer gems for every pocketbook, from museum-quality art to thrift-shop chic. And the area's eclectic late Georgian, Creole, and Greek Revival houses nestle closely together, forming a fascinating and varied cityscape.
The Marigny's boundaries as defined by the City Planning Commission are: North Rampart Street and St. Claude Avenue to the north, Franklin Avenue to the east, the Mississippi River to the south and Esplanade Avenue to the west.
The Marigny was laid out in the first decade of the 19th century by eccentric Creole millionaire developer Bernard Xavier Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville on land that had been his family plantation, just downriver from the old city limits of New Orleans. The portion of the Marigny closer to the river was built up first; the area on the side of St. Claude Avenue (formerly "Goodchildren Street") away from the river was sometimes called "New Marigny".
Elysian Fields Avenue, named after the Champs-Élysées in Paris, was designed to be the main street of the Faubourg Marigny. It was the first street in New Orleans to extend all the way from the riverfront straight to Lake Pontchartrain, 8 km (5 miles) away. From 1830-31, the Pontchartrain Railroad was built, with tracks running down the center of Elysian Fields. The area at the other end of the rail line developed into Milneburg. Marigny's town square, Washington Square, fronts Elysian Fields.
The neighborhood declined in the mid-20th century but came back strong in the late 20th century. After profiteering centered around the 1984 World's Fair drove many long-term residents from the French Quarter into the Marigny. Frenchmen Street soon developed the city's premier collection of live music venues and restaurants, and is a popular destination for both locals and knowledgeable out-of-towners. If you have any questions about the neighborhood, please send us a message!
You will have full access to:

★ Huge house, everyone had space to spread out and relax.
The Marigny has a way of pulling you in - live brass drifting from Frenchmen Street, festivals folding into the city’s fall calendar, and the French Quarter just a short walk away. This five-bedroom home puts your group at the center of it all, with room to spread out, cook together, and genuinely settle in. Character-filled interiors, a private backyard, and a game room built for real competition make this more than a place to stay - it’s where the trip takes shape.
Living space A private entrance opens into a single-level layout with no stairs - practical for groups and easy to navigate at any hour. Room-darkening shades and central air conditioning keep the home comfortable between late nights and early mornings, while ceiling fans add to the warm, unhurried feel of the interiors. One floor, one entrance, everything within reach.
Sleeping arrangements Five bedrooms each offer a queen bed, quality bed linens, and room-darkening shades for proper rest. Clothing storage is generous throughout - walk-in closets, standard closets, and dressers mean everyone can actually unpack and settle in. Three full bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel, and a hair dryer, keeping mornings running smoothly for the whole group.
Kitchen & dining The fully equipped kitchen is ready for serious cooking. A Frigidaire refrigerator, GE stainless steel gas stove, Bosch stainless steel single oven, dishwasher, and microwave handle the essentials, while a drip coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, baking sheet, and wine glasses cover the rest. Cooking basics - oil, salt, pepper, pots and pans - are already stocked. Gather around the dining table for shared meals, or start the day with a coffee before heading into the city.
Entertainment The dedicated game room is a genuine group highlight - classic arcade games and giant Connect 4 for friendly competition that tends to run well past dinner. A 55-inch HDTV anchors movie nights, and a fast Ethernet connection backs up the WiFi for reliable streaming. A dedicated workspace with a door keeps work-related tasks separate for anyone who needs it.
Outdoor living The private, fully fenced backyard is a real asset - a genuinely secluded outdoor space with an outdoor dining area and private patio for your group’s use throughout the day. October in New Orleans brings mild, pleasant evenings that make the backyard a natural gathering point, whether it’s morning coffee before heading out or a quiet wind-down at the end of the night.
Amenities In-unit washer and dryer, iron, central heating and cooling, WiFi, and Ethernet connection keep the practical side of the stay sorted from check-in to checkout. Self check-in via smart lock makes arrival seamless, and cleaning is available during your stay. Families will find a Pack ‘n play/travel crib and folding high chair available upon request, with babysitter recommendations on hand. Free street parking is available outside.
Neighborhood Steps from Frenchmen Street - New Orleans’ most celebrated stretch for live local jazz - and an easy walk from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, the location is as good as it gets in the Marigny. Fall in the city means festival season in full swing, with October and November bringing parades, community events, and the distinct energy New Orleans channels into its best seasons. The Marigny itself is one of the city’s most storied neighborhoods, with a singular architectural character and local rhythm that rewards exploration on its own.
Please note: No parties, no unregistered guests, and no smoking. Any attempt to host a party of any kind will result in immediate termination of the stay with no refund.

Comfortable and spacious on the inside; a bit rough on the outside. The Marigny is a great location with quick access to grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants and bars. Very comfortable for 9-10 people.

Beautiful home with Plenty of Space!
Plenty of space for large families or groups!! Great location. Parking was a bit of a challenge due to the size of our SUV, but we were able to find a spot a couple houses down. There were a couple issues with maintenance, the owners acknowledged the concerns right away. Overall it was a great space and would highly recommend! .

When compared to other similar properties that other family members stayed in, I thought that the unit was a level below. Couple that with a 10 hour power outage
