Perfect location! That’s what we loved most about this visit - the ability to walk out the door onto the strand and beach. We loved being down the peninsula a little more so that you didn’t get quite as much traffic rolling past. Do know that you will get street noise. Unavoidable as there is only one Main Street up and down balboa peninsula. And the windows on the street side are super thin - so you can sleep with them open or closed - doesn’t matter because they are so thin, when closed it sounds like they are open! To be expected though. Kitchen had everything we needed. Primary suite was fantastic. A couple of inaccurate advertisements for the house. It says Nespresso for coffee so we bought based on that information. Turned out it is a Keurig at that house. Also, it says no bikes there but there were 4 beach cruisers in the garage. AvantStay was a good property manager. They encourage (to be read - require) you to shift over from Vrbo to their platform for the trip - filling out forms, communication, etc. it’s a good platform, but really - if you advertise on Vrbo, it’s nice to use, and expect to be able to use that platform. The place was clean when we got there but expect a heavy dose of cleaning solution smell for the first day/night. It was intense. The house itself is pretty beat up. It’s a rental so it is par for the course. But lots of nicks on the walls and just a little rough around the edges for the price. But it would not deter us from staying there again.
