Disappointed and Misled — Not at All as AdvertisedWe booked this home based on the glowing reviews and attractive photos, but unfortunately, our experience was entirely different. As an owner of several short-term rental properties, I have high standards for cleanliness—and this property fell far below them.From the moment we walked in, there was a stale, musty odor coming from the dirty tile floors. The couch was heavily stained and so filthy I couldn’t let my grandchildren sit on it, and there weren’t even extra linens available to cover it. When my granddaughter got into bed, she immediately noticed the sheets were scratchy. Upon checking, we found sand in the bed, a clear sign that the sheets hadn’t been changed. I also suspected one of the pillowcases in my room had been used by a previous guest.The house was extremely warm on a hot day, and while I initially noticed the smell of cleaning products, it became clear that the heat was actually coming from the laundry area. The dryer vent had been disconnected for some time, judging by the amount of lint buildup around it, and instead of repairing it, the cleaning crew had run the dryer—pumping hot air into the house during a record heat wave.It’s incredibly frustrating to feel misled by reviews. I brought my family here for a reunion and ultimately had to cut our trip short by two days because the state of the home was unacceptable. It completely ruined what should have been a special and memorable time together.
