Wolfgang Pichler Design remodeled the house in a modern Scandinavian key: a chef's kitchen open to the living room, picture windows set for sunrise and sunset, a breezeway out to the dining patio. Watch the mesas catch first light, run the statement bathtub in the afternoon, then trade it for the hot tub and fire pit at night. Two bedrooms, quiet all around.



The Space:

Mulberry & Pine is a newly remodeled two-bedroom home on 2.5 acres in Pipes Canyon, a remote part of Pioneertown surrounded by flat-topped mesas. The remodel, by Wolfgang Pichler Design, pairs modern Scandinavian style with the desert. A chef's kitchen faces the open dining and living room, with picture windows for sunrise and sunset, and a breezeway leads to the outdoor dining patio. Outside, a hot tub, a cowboy tub, an outdoor shower and a fire pit make the most of the canyon. Pull a classic from the archway bookshelf and take it to the bath.

-Outdoor Amenities-

A breezeway leads to the outdoor dining patio with a propane BBQ. The hot tub has a surrounding deck, and the cowboy tub offers a cool dip in warm months; it is not an in-ground pool and is closed November through March. An outdoor bed, an outdoor shower and a propane fire pit round out the space, with hiking in the canyon nearby. The property is not fully fenced.



-Living Area-

The open dining and living room has picture windows facing sunrise and sunset and a built-in archway bookshelf stocked with classic literature. A Bluetooth sound system is on hand.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The fully stocked chef's kitchen faces the open dining and living room, so the cook is never far from the group.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Mulberry & Pine has two bedrooms and a statement bathtub that is a highlight of the house.



-Surrounding Area-

Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown, La Copine, the Integratron, Joshua Tree village and Joshua Tree National Park all make good outings from Mulberry & Pine.

Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



There are some dirt roads, but low-riding cars can make it and four-wheel drive is not required. Please note that there is no cell phone coverage at the property.



Other Things to Note:

-Cowboy Tub-

The pool at Mulberry & Pine is a cowboy tub, not an in-ground pool. The cowboy tub is a seasonal amenity and is closed from November through March to protect the pipes from freezing and bursting.



-House-Specific Rules-

► Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.

► Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. No external speakers allowed.

► Any locked closet, room or storage area on the property is reserved for rental supplies and is off limits to guests. Guests may be held responsible for damage or missing items if a locked area is entered.

► Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher.

► If you're interested in hosting a special event or a photoshoot, please let us know. Additional fees apply, and photoshoots may require permits.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

We have weekly hot tub and cowboy tub cleanings on Tuesdays, and this day may fall during your stay.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed due to the owner's severe allergy.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

For your security, there is an exterior camera facing the driveway. There are no cameras inside the home or in the back of the property.



-Cell Service-

There is no cell phone coverage at the property. Wi-Fi is available, so please download maps and directions before you arrive.



-Damage Waiver Policy-

Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
