« Excellent stay at the Chequers Inn again for a week for the New Year. Beautiful room, good food, clean, lovely staff - shout out to Angela who went above & beyond for us! Lovely compassionate email sent to us following the very sad death of my Dad whilst we were away. Only downside - the bar closed at 10:30pm on New Years Eve! We will definitely return. »

« The room was just what we wanted, with two twin beds. The wi-fi worked easily, and the bathroom was very up-scale. The lounge felt welcoming, which expanded the size of our living space. We loved the breakfast, which was both professionally put together and personalized. We felt welcomed by the hosts, who gave us excellent directions and suggestions. A very pleasant stay! »

« Tout est parfait mais le restaurant est un pub et, comme souvent en Angleterre, les chambres sont un peu bruyantes. La chambre 6 au dessus de l'entrée principale offre une vue formidable avec sa bow window. »

« Spacious off-street parking behind the hotel. A warm welcome and efficient staff. Clean, neat room and ensuite. Lots of hot water, soft towels. Comfortable bed. Nicely cooked breakfast with excellent eggs, bacon and toast, coffee and juice (other options available). Staff deserve a special commendation - there was an unexpected power cut in that part of town in the morning, but they managed to serve an excellent hot breakfast with no fuss or delays. Thank you! »

« The room was clean, with modern/quirky tech features. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs, providing a place to store our luggage after the check out time. The hotel is in a good location for the Redjet passenger ferry and the high street with bars and restaurants. It is also located a few mins walk from the taxi rank and bus stop that has connections to Newport. »

The most central location you could have in Newport - the bus garage was right next door which took us to all the tourist locations that I would recommend - the needles, shanklin beach, carisbrook castle and the garlic farm. The guesthouse also has an excellent Thai restaurant downstairs, great food, really delicious and great price. « We had a beach view room which was spacious and had an absolutely stunning view over the beach and cliffs over a distance. We came to the island for my son’s fossil hunting. He’s 9. We listened to the high tides at night, absolutely worth it. Even with the window open, it’s still warm during the day in the winter. Will revisit. »
