The Space:

A true lakefront cottage on the western shore of Lake Rotorua in Ngongotahā, looking northeast across the water to Mokoia Island. Quiet, private and full of light, it's built for families and small groups who want to wake by the water, spend the day on the lake, and soak in the spa as the sun goes down.

Self-contained sleep-out: Queen bed, with en-suite bathroom and kitchenette



Sleeps 6 in total. Hotel-quality mattresses, dual duvets, two pillow types and electric blankets for winter comfort. All bedding and linen supplied.



- BATHROOMS -

Two bathrooms and two toilets, both with smart-toilet technology, plus the sleep-out's own en-suite. Hair dryers provided. There's also a lakefront outdoor shower for rinsing off after a paddle. Towels supplied.



- LIVING AREA -

An expansive lake-view living area with panoramic views over Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island. A wood fireplace with unlimited firewood keeps it cosy in winter, with air conditioning (heating and cooling) for year-round comfort. A 55" smart TV with Netflix and YouTube, the owners' DVD collection and a shelf of board games make for relaxed evenings in. The fully equipped kitchen has a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, rice cooker and full cookware and cutlery - chopsticks included.



- OUTDOOR AREA -

The private spa pool - 23 Tornado Jets and three hydro-massage seats - sits on the deck looking straight out over the lake to Mokoia Island, the spot for a soak at sunset. Direct lake access with two kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard means you can be on the water in minutes, and there's a BBQ for long summer evenings and a lakefront outdoor shower.



- LAUNDRY -

Washing machine and tumble dryer on site - handy for longer stays and families.



- PARKING -

Ample on-site and off-street parking for guests.



Guest Access:

Guests have exclusive use of the entire cottage - the lake-view living area, both bedrooms, the self-contained sleep-out, spa pool, deck, BBQ, outdoor shower, kayaks and paddleboard, and direct lakefront access. Self-check-in on arrival. Please note a second home, Stillwater Residence, sits to the rear of the section (also managed by us) - the cottage itself is set right at the water's edge for a quiet, private stay. Make yourself at home. 🏡



The Neighborhood:

Ngongotahā is a relaxed lakeside village on the western shore of Lake Rotorua, just north of the city and a world away from the bustle. Stillwater Cottage looks northeast over the water to Mokoia Island, with sunrise over the lake straight off your own lawn. Skyline Rotorua's gondola and luge, Rotorua Canopy Tours and the Zorb are all within about seven minutes, while central Rotorua, Eat Streat and the lakefront boardwalk, Polynesian Spa and Wai Ariki Hot Springs are a short drive around the lake. Te Puia's geysers and the Redwoods Whakarewarewa Forest are an easy run the other way. It's an easygoing base for a Rotorua holiday, right on the lakefront.



Getting Around:

A car is recommended for exploring wider Rotorua, and there's ample on-site and off-street parking. Zorb, Skyline and Canopy Tours are around 5 to 7 minutes away, central Rotorua about 12, Te Puia 15, the Redwoods roughly 20, and Rotorua Airport about 23 minutes around the eastern side of the lake.
