« A unique and quaint property. Owners have a long history with owning the beautiful lodge. Perfect for what we needed (1 might stop over). Would love to go back once fully renovated as a wedding venue. It has so much potential and I wish them all the best. Quirky fact - Charles Dickens stayed here back in his heyday! »

« Welcomed in nicely car parking very tight Food in restaurant outstanding - superb taste and good value Room excellent - better than last time I stayed -chose a better room ! On the negative then someone else parked selfishly in the carpark making it extremely precarious to get out - should have been stopped and was charged at dinner for something i didn't have - only noticed today »

« A beautiful, peaceful stay! So much space and goregous natural light streaming through sash windiws in the morning. The rooms are in an historic, listed building, so there are quirks and without the radiators it can be chilly, so if staying in the winter months consider bringing a cosy dressing gown to wrap up in, especially after a relaxing soak in the huge bathtub. The coffee machine and chocolates were a wonderful treat. As was waking up right in the city centre. »

« Emplacement : Environnement calme. Le stationnement y est simple (dans la rue de l'hôtel). Bon choix de restaurants à proximité. Hôtel : Personnel très accueillant. Pièces d'eau comprenant à la fois WC et Douche, pouvant être difficile à gérer si l'hôtel est rempli. Mais lors de notre séjour, il n'y avait que 2 ou 3 personnes, donc pas de problème pour nous. Propreté des chambre, correcte sans plus. »

The location is idyllic, tucked away in a little village along the river, whose sound provided great ambiance through our open window (we stayed in the Premier King).
