The house was perfect for our nice weekend getaway, and had everything we could need. We lucked out with some beautiful weather and the kids had a great time with the kayaks and canoes on the canal and the lake. Grant was very responsive and really easy to work with.

We had just an excellent stay! We came for a quick girls weekend and this place was perfect! Cute, clean, comfortable beds and a excellently stocked kitchen! The main event of our weekends away is always a glorious, glutenous meal prepared by us, so a well stocked fully functional kitchen is key to our happiness! The town is cute with dining and shopping but also close enough for some day trips. We spent the late morning and early afternoon bopping around the downtown Lake Geneva boutiques which was great! We all agreed we'd love to come back in the summer and use the kayaks and canoe and check out the Water way! Grant was awesome to work with and the little bar next door was a plus! Highly recommend!

Grant sent us an email with information in advance and everything was exactly as the pictures showed. We walked out on the ice and saw some fisherman catch a huge northern. We had dinner and caught some live music next door, and we’re pleased that we couldn’t hear it at the house after we left. It was a short drive to Alpine Valley for a day of skiing. We will definitely be back to check it out in the summertime.

I love this place! I had such a great time! One of my favorites was using the Kayak - you can easily explore the canal (attached to the yard) and access the big lake which is just few short rows away. There is a nice island and slow no wake that made for minimal waves and boat traffic. The house is clean, bed was comfortable and we loved playing the arcade-like PacMan and foosball! The host was easy to work with and the neighborhood was nice and quiet - which my dog enjoyed. I am planning on coming back again!

We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. The bathtub had hair everywhere, the bathroom sink appeared as though it was not cleaned, unflushed human waste in the toilet, and there was garbage in the kitchen that was not disposed of before our arrival. We paid 160 in cleaning fee so we had much higher expectations. Aside from the cleanliness issue, Grant was an excellent host. Very hospitable and a great communicator.

Although grateful to the host to have received the full refund for canceling upon arrival, I nevertheless have to mention the reason we left immediately, so that future guests, who rely on reviews, like I did and do, know what to expect. My daughter is allergic to tobacco smell and smoke, and the house had a very very strong cigarette smoke smell upon entering, which was unacceptable for us. Not the kind of smell that would eventually go away if you aired out the house, but the type where it seemed to have permeated everything in the home, and had heavy smokers living there for years. Communication with the host was good and he was very responsive and processed the refund the next day. I am sure it will be the right house for others, but it just wasn't for us.

Great place to stay!

Cottage on the Canal did not disappoint! Grant was very reachable and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was very clean. There were plenty of activities to do, but just relaxing outside on the deck was wonderful. Grant even left a bottle of wine to greet us when we walked in. Highly recommend staying here!

Thanksgiving weekend

My wife and stayed with our son and wife along with our grandson. We had plenty of room. Would've liked another shower but all was good. Food next door at the watering hole was excellent too !

Lovely weekend in Waterford

My husband, pup, and I enjoyed a long weekend at Grant’s place. It was perfect for the two of us and our dog. It was great to have family visit us and enjoy an outdoor fire. Area was very quiet, Grant was very responsive with questions.

Clean, safe area.

Easy access to the property, right on the water. Cottage was clean and safe, the listing was accurate. Grant was an intentive, helpful and a gracious host. Kayaking was just a few steps away. We would definitely go back!

Wonderful Weekend

The stay at the house on the canal was wonderful. We needed to visit Waterford to see my daughter and was looking for a comfortable place to stay with my family. This house is not large but has ample space inside with three bedrooms. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a long weekend. The owner was very communicative and kind, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Although the house isn't directly on the lake, the canal provided easy access for kayaking and canoeing, which was a fantastic bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring the area and appreciated the convenience of having these watercraft available. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Great lake house getaway

Our family loved paddling out through the canal and swimming at the sandbar. Fishing was so fun and caught so many right off the dock. The house was modern and perfect for our family of 4 + 2 mini dachsunds. Nearby restaurants had great food, and we were able to grill an amazing meal at the cottage with dinner on the patio. The fire pit was a big hit with our little ones for storytelling and s’more making, along with the game area in the basement. Grant was an amazing host and communicated effectively and promptly. Would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic Location for a getaway

We had such a enjoyable time at this house on the canal. Everything about this location was great! Extremely clean, comfortable, relaxing. Our dog loved the fenced in area/deck over looking the canal. Thank you to the host Grant for making this a wonderful trip!

Great Cottage Feel

Overall our stay here was very positive. The house had plenty of room for our group and had all the household items needed for a positive stay. The host was very responsive when it came to any issues and even offered to bring over additional items to help our stay feel a little more comfortable on a hot weekend. Time away from the city - but not too far away!

Lake house

Everything was what we expected. Our family wanted to go to Milwaukee for a few days & hang around. Just note it is a lakehouse, so there will be spiders & such. Grant was extremely accommodating & easy to reach. There was construction going on everyday, so we had some noise, but not Grant's fault at all.
