Auberges à Western Lake District

« Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. The walls were wafer thin, you can hear the tap running and toilet etc from the room next door. Also the water in the bathroom made a right racket when you ran the tap, shower or flushed the toilet. « Hôtel parait simple mais s'est révélé tout à fait confortable. Il offre grand parking. Nous avons disposé de 2 chambres très spacieuses et bien équipées. Le personnel s'est montré très aimable. Le restaurant propose un grand choix de plats qui a permis à chacun de trouver son bonheur. Situation en dehors des zones touristiques. Idéal pour randonneurs. »

« All the staff we met were great, cheerfull helpfull and polite. The room was clean and comfortable and what one expects in a very old building. Only 4 stars for 2 reasons the shower only worked on the large head and the food choices were very limited both in the restaurant and at breakfast. No salads and limited vegetables in restaurant.No fruit or cereal at breakfast. The hotel is remote which is part of it's appeal for us so going out in the evening is not an option,I would have struggled...
