« Extraordinary cottage, very well equiped, cosy and confortable.You feel at home and it is just as though Elizabeth 1st is going to knock at your door!The town itself is delicious, with nice people : we had coffee and cake when visiting the church!Also nice shops.Easy to get to London or Cambridge by train from Audley End, and last surprise : Audley End house!Thank you Deborah and Susie, we would certainly be happy to come back and tu recommend Drake cottage »

« My Friends and I stayed at Cosgrove Cottage over the weekend just gone, and it was nothing short of magical. The setting is simply beautiful, right on the edge of the Forest. The marketing photos do not do it justice, you have to see it to believe it. The presentation of the actually property was immaculate and the Owners were very possibly the nicest people I have ever met. Warm, welcoming and extremely accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The Tour of the Grounds was informative but...

« Enjoyed our stay, cottage is welcoming and attention to detail appreciated. Very clean and everything you need is thought of. Garden is nice and well kept. Only down side is having no parking, but owner has arranged parking at nearby water park, but this was a little problematic for us. There is quite a bit of road noise as it’s on a relatively busy road, but maybe we notice it more as we live in a very rural location with no traffic and are not used to it. But would def stay again, thank you....

« Cottage was really nice to stay at for our 10 day England trip. Bathrooms being updated was nice and the beds were very comfortable. Being positioned on a golf course off the main road made for quiet nights. The bistro next door with the included 10% discount for staying at the cottage was excellent for breakfast and evening drinks. Perfect little picturesque and quaint cottage. »

« We needed a property big enough to accommodate 13 people and Bellropes was perfect. Great kitchen, big enough to seat everyone and fully equipped with everything we needed. Garden was huge and being able to get to the beach was an added bonus, if a little further away than the 5 minutes stated.Would definitely recommend for large families wanting a homely place to get-together.Garde »

« The cottage was beautiful, well equipped, comfy, cosy, well situated and an absolute gem! Go no further than Frinton Escapes! My first time and the cottage was ideal. Close to ALL amenities in a close, so quiet but everything on its doorstep. Great history behind it too. If you do t go, you will be the loser! »

« Very enjoyable stay, well stocked cottage with comfortable bedrooms, lounge, bathroom, kitchen and conservatory, extra fans were provided when weather was too hot. »

« Such a calm and lovely place. We really liked it. The morning-coffee on our sunrise bench with a nice view over the river. Just dogs and birds and ships, far away from any car traffic. The card games in the backyard and the very good meals in the pub at the riverbank just a minute from our house. A perfect spot to relax. »

« Just a short drive from Saffron Walden, the cottage is ideally situated for exploring Cambridge, Saffron Walden and Audley End House. A really quiet location and very comfortable stay. »

« My favorite place I’ve stayed out of all my vacations! It was matical! Very clean, and beautiful craftsmanship. The property was private and relaxing, check in was simple and easy, and the stay as a whole was beautiful and peaceful. Want to come back to England just to stay here again. »

« Very well appointed and located - pretty wrap around garden with sun at different times of day- close to jetty where grandsons loved crabbing and yummy unpretentious seafood restaurants.Only reservation for some could be 2 flights of steep stairs to 2 of 3 bedrooms with only bathroom and loo downstairs— but cottage dates from 1575 so don’t expect en-suites! - what you do get is character and comfort. »

« The host of this home was very responsive. This home was just as described and look just like the pictures. Our kids enjoyed the game room in the back garden. All the local pubs were within walking distance in the water was also a nice walk. Everyone in the town is very friendly. One night we were late to town and all the pubs had closed and we had to cook in the kitchen and had everything we needed. The weather was lovely and we had take out from the nearest pub and dined outside in the garden...
