« Beautiful setting, very abundant plant life. We enjoyed the coqui frogs serenading us at night. The native fruit grown on the property was a treat along with the homemade banana bread. Only issue was musty when first opened, cleared fairly well when ac was turned on. Dogs barking at times at night woke us up. Beautiful place, comfortable with everything you need. »

« We spent 3 nights at Raul’s guesthouse which felt more like a very spacious condo! It is safe with a gated driveway and a backyard that never ends! The fruit trees, the flowers and the landscape are absolutely stunning. Now for interior, there are only positives critiques to be said here. Everything is high end, they provide you with so many things that it is easy to cook your own meals! They have lots of pots and pans, dishes etc… but no condiments. Every inch of this place is taken care of....

« Chris was an excellent host. The lodge is a truly magical setting. Even when there are clouds and rain, it is beautiful. A quiet retreat overlooking the channel between Maui and the Big island. It was enjoyable seeing the routine of the animals each day. We will be back. »

« Great location, great view, charming house with an "older Hawaii" feel. We saw whales, dolphins, ships sailing by, and surfers catching waves. Oh, and thumbs up on the outdoor shower! »

« If you enjoy the sound of surf and gazing out at the ocean, this is the spot for you. The lanai, main room, kitchen and dining area are wonderful. Spacious, comfortable, and with wonderful views and plenty of ocean sounds. Great location if you want to be near Hilo. Host was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay again. »
