The location in Old Town was ideal. The unit we stayed in was in an aged building (as many are in that part of town) and could use some serious updating, especially given the high price. By way of example, just entering the property was something of a challenge, with a key pad on a heavy, solid and sticky tall wooden gate that a person literally had to throw a shoulder into in order to open. The "pool" is kind of a joke, as it is basically the size of a medium sized spa and there was absolutely no way anyone could swim in it. It was not heated. We didn't see anyone use it. We had some issues with representations that were made to us about amenities that did not exist in the unit we had. To their credit, the property manager responded quickly when we complained and did what they could by way of financial consideration to rectify the situation. Our room and bath were nice enough for what they were (plenty of towels!), but scouting the area, we realized rather quickly we could have stayed in nicer "historic" accommodations (B & B's) with better amenities for the same money. We've used Vrbo a number of times and in the past were pleased. This is the first time we really had reason to question what we were getting for our money. Prior Vrbo stays were with direct owners and not a mgmt co. with other properties in they area. Aside from all that, we definitely enjoyed Key West. The property manager provided some excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities.
