Stunning concept... however it's hot as heck

Check in was a 2 hour affair with conflicting and incorrect instructions. I had to make multiple conference calls while my kids were screaming at the museum. They ended up sending us to their spare key...The biggest issue here is that the entire wall facing the mountains is glass (which is stunning),but the HVAC that's there now simply cannot handle the heat and the sun that bakes though all day. We arrived to an 83 degree house and it only got hotter. I was on the phone with management for hours upon arrival. I was told to use box fans, I was told "well the previous tenant left the AC off", I was told to turn on the split air units in the rooms and leave the doors open... and I was busy with this the whole trip. The house "cooled down" to 76 overnight (it's 70 outside at night) and went right back up to mid to upper 80's in the daytime. I strongly suspect that ownership knew ab this because there are box fans all over the brand new house. Additionally, there are these nifty little wifi thermometer gadgets casually placed all around the main floor.To their credit, I was offered to leave and stay elsewhere, but it simply wasn't feasible. So staying was the best option, but we had most of the family sleeping downstairs squeezed into 2 rooms bc downstairs was cool. They also dropped off a huge fan a few days in, but it didn't cool down the space at all. House is magnificent, it's a shame that they didn't get the HVAC right. I'm sure it's stunning in the other seasons

Stunning property with fantastic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with Mt. Mitchell front and center. The home and wonderfully laid out, decorated, and stocked. I can't thank the owners enough for the snacks and wine.The neighborhood is very quiet and not fully built out yet, so you get a big feeling of privacy at the property. The outdoor shower and hot tubs were well enjoyed. Check in with clear and easy and it appears they have the AC issue sorted. Of course, any home with that much glass exposed to the Sun will have it's HVAC working double time to keep up. Given the various zones in the home on mini splits, we found it better to shut doors to the bedrooms worked best. We slept well on the main floor with a nice and cool working AC.This is the only home we've rented so far my wife said she's willing to return!
