Stay in Charleston

Vaca rental was relatively close to visitors center. Kitchen was well stocked. We didn’t spend much time in the rental because of seeing the town, but when there the furniture was not the most comfortable and the up and coming area was a little rough. Large vehicles will experience problems.

Not What Was Expected

The property itself was ok and was very convenient to King Street; however, the writeup online did not warn of us the abandoned, scary looking buildings right next door nor about the 1 a.m. daily emptying of the dumpsters that were being used for all the construction going on next door and across the street. Additionally, some of the towels were dirty and the downstairs shower would shoot cold water intermittently while showing and the upstairs shower gathered water in the basin when taking a shower.

Not Senior Friendly

The internet said it was good for 5 people but the kitchen only had 3 chairs and no folding chairs to try and accommodate seating. The driveway is a nightmare and our parking spot was so difficult to get in and out. The neighborhood is under extreme construction and the noise was constant.

Weekend Getaway

The communication leading up to and during our stay was exceptional. The property is situated a little bit north of all the shopping and restaurants on King, but the weather was perfect and the walk was extremely manageable. In addition, it is very close to Leon's and some other eats. The only comment is that there is currently a decent bit of construction right around the property but was not a big deal at all during the weekends (some minor noise on the weekday mornings but the noise makers in each room drowned most of it out). Overall, a great property and experience!

Charming, wonderful find!!!

What a cute and comfortable find!!! We stayed with friends and loved the charm of the house! We were able to walk to all of the locations we wanted. We didn’t have a car although there was a place to park if needed. The place was very clean and the beds comfortable. Our hosts were super attentive and very accommodating. We all agreed that we’d love to come back to Charleston and we would stay here again. Thank you!!!

Charming house close to the action

House is a cute renovation with lovely beams and exposed brick. Lots of kitchen amenities and huge shower stalls. The location has a lot of buildings and house restorations nearby so there are a not lot of other residences on the street. It’s near many tourist areas some being walkable. Property manager was in speedy communications about everything. Parking is very tight if you have a large carAre walkable

Great Charleston Getaway

Our family really enjoyed our stay! Such a cute little gem of a property! We loved the nearby restaurants (especially Big Bad Breakfast!) that were literally a block away as well as the easy walk to downtown.

All we needed!

This property was perfect for what we needed! It was extremely clean and updated. The location was OK, very short drive to Meeting and Market Streets. A tad noisy due to all the renovations going on around us, but that didnt bother us at all! There was a very diverse population around us, but we felt safe. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Misleading description!

Very loud (like a truck running its engine) in the middle of the night — kept us up most of our first night! Turns out, we discovered the next week, garbage trucks park at the back of the large, new-ish residential complex just behind the property and take their time dumping the large trash containers there
 with lots of breaking glass noise, too! The description on the VRBO website greatly underplayed the disruption by the construction: “There is currently construction nearby that may add to the average street noise during working hours.” The construction was not “nearby;” it was right in front of the property, and the city ordinance only limits noise until 7:00 am, and the building does not have double pane windows, so the noise was LOUD. The dirt from the trucks going in and out of the construction site caused so much dust. A metal plate over one large hole in the street also made a loud booming sound every time cars drove over it, like a huge kettle drum! The microwave was not “plugged in” — but it turned out it was actually broken! It had to be replaced after the tech guy couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Shower upstairs drained very slowly so that even if you turned off the water to soap, it didn’t drain enough so that your feet were still in a puddle! The downstairs sink also didn’t drain. (My husband got Drano.) Some of the towels were very stinky — as though they had been left in the washing machine too long and got mildewy. We had to launder them..many more issues!

Convenient and comfortable

Husband and I had a pleasant few days in Charleston. This VRBO is just as pictured, but be aware that if you have a wide SUV like we do (Suburban), parking is challenging. We opted to park and walk or Uber for the duration. Also, the location is convenient and walkable to downtown (if you’re fit and it’s not hot), there is a lot of construction going on in the area.
