Fish Tales at the Nags Head Pier

FishTales is an original Outer Banks cottage style apartment , built circa 1940, that sits within the Nags Head Fishing Pier property. This cozy apartment is currently being thoughtfully renovated alongside the pier and is set to open May 2026. You’ll love being close to everything the pier has to offer—grab breakfast or lunch at the pier café, enjoy a drink at the tiki bar, watch the fisherman bring in their catch, or simply enjoy the beach!

The space

We want you to LOVE the Fish Tales cottage as much as we do! The second you walk through the door into this newly renovated apartment, you’ll feel right at home. This cozy cottage apartment is the perfect place to getaway with family and friends. Fish Tales can comfortably accommodate up to four guests.

Sleeping Arrangements:
- Bedroom 1: Queen bed
- Bedroom 2: Queen bed

Bathroom:
- Bathroom: Full bathroom with tiled shower

Outdoor Living:
- Shared grill
- Shared outdoor shower
- Beach gear: chairs and umbrella

Indoor Living:
- Linens, towels, beach towels
- Shampoo, conditioner, body soap
- Hair dryer, iron/board
- Paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, sponge, hand soap, dish soap, cleaning supplies, and other basic essentials

- 4-person dining table

- Drip coffee maker (coffee provide), microwave

- Other basic kitchen cookware

Parking:
- Guests will have dedicated parking spots for the apartment

Guest access
You will have access to all areas of the downstairs apartment. The second story of the building is a separate rental, The Ocean Overlook, that accommodate nine guests. You can find more information about this space by going to host profile!

Other things to note
The Fish Tales cottage is steps from the Nags Head Pier, which is so much fun, and the party may go on into the night. We would love for you to be a part of the late night fun, but if you’re looking to turn in early, we offer earplugs and a sound machine.
