Beautiful setting, overlooking the ocean. We saw whales daily while sitting on the deck enjoying morning coffee or late afternoon sunset watching. The staff kept everything very clean and were available if needed. We had a little trouble checking in because we wanted to drop luggage off early and then go explore before check in. I wrote to the host the day before and the morning of check in about drop off but didn’t get an answer so that was frustrating. The gate is locked for security so we couldn’t go in. Finally got the attention of another guest and they found the manager who was very gracious and let us bring the luggage in. Furnishings are very bare bones and cheap utensils but very good coffee was provided and the bed and pillows comfortable. No kitchen towels or paper towels provided. We did not notice the warning about the stairs until after we got there. We were on the 4th floor down, built on the cliff, so a lot of climbing. If climbing could be a problem, reserve a unit closer tithe top of the complex. The bus runs every 10 minutes for trips to points north and south for 10 pesos each and stops on the highway outside the complex if you wave it down. We went to Mismaloya and took an easy walk through town to the zoo. The other way we visited Boca de Catatlan and took a water taxi to Y’lapa. The bus also runs into Puerto Vallarta and you can catch another bus to the airport when you are ready to head out. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
