« I couldn’t have wished for anything better! A spontaneous stay while I attended a course at the Curwen Print Study Centre near by (which is also excellent). The room was large yet super cosy, beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Lots of soft cushions, blankets and fluffy rugs. Everything was clean and tidy, and warm which was very much appreciated. The pub was so welcoming - staff and punters! And the food was home cooked, plentiful and very tasty. Definitely recommend the food 😀 »

« I’ll start by saying all the buildings are old so if you are looking for a comfortable place that’s close to the bases this is great. Nigel and his staff are top notch. Food is incredible and new refurbishments in the bar make it a great place to sit and relax. »

« We booked in so that we could attend the Theatre Royal, which is close by. We wondered whether the parking would be adequate, and it was. We had lunch on arrival. My wife ordered chicken kiev but the dish was really chicken escalopes, but still nice. We liked our room. Temperature control via radiator valves. Very comfortable and clean. The bathroom equipment looked brand new. »

« noise electric clock really unpleasant and impossible to stop inconvenient shower, water runs on the window sill and the floor music from the DJ on Saturday evening really very loud to the point where the floor and the bed were shaking »

« My partner and I recently enjoyed a delightful 2-night stay at The Ship Inn, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by warm and welcoming staff who made us feel right at home. The accommodation was not only spotlessly clean but also charmingly quirky, adding a unique touch to our stay. Despite being mid-week, the pub buzzed with activity, filled with friendly locals that added to the cozy atmosphere. We made an advance dinner reservation at the dining area...

« Birthday stayover, we attended the Apex for a music event. The Fox had ample free parking, early book in, lovely walk into town via ruins gardens. Room was clean, warm, quiet and comfortable. We would definitely stay again and i would recommend »

« The hotel is part of a historic inn which was very atmospheric. We stayed in a family room for 3 people and the room was warm and cosy and welcoming as we arrived just before 9pm and it was a bit chilly in the countryside. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice dining room in a genuine rural setting. Service was friendly & excellent. »

« We had a lovely one night stay in the Warren room, it was very comfortable with a beautiful bathroom, two small notes, there is no accessible plug socket near the right hand side of the bed & the TV was not working while we were there but that wasn’t really a problem for us as we were out most of the time. The food was excellent and staff very friendly and attentive. »

« Clean good sized room, towels, kettle, mugs/tea/coffee making facilities and ample breakfasts. Stayed in family rm and lucky to not have other people stay next door so had the shower/toilet to ourselves. Staff were nice, friendly and polite. Flexible in having takeaway sarnies for lunch in place of breakfast. Decor a bit dated and room a little too room, but on the whole felt very comfortable. Thanks 😊 »
