« it was nice »

« We stayed here twice, once on our way from New York to Illinois and again on our way back, and it was a great place to stop with our kids after a long drive. The pool area is definitely the highlight of the hotel. Our kids loved it, and it was the perfect way to unwind after being in the car for hours. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent. The only issue we had was with our first stay. Although we booked a non-smoking room, the bathroom had a strong cigarette...

« I expect a typical “free breakfast” when I stay at a roadside hotel…scrambled eggs, sausage, an assortment of breads and cereals…the usual fare for such establishments. The bar is not very high. Unfortunately, Fairfield in Wheeling didn’t make it over the bar. The assortment of offerings was fewer than the average, and no breakfast meat, at all. When the expectation is pretty low to begin with, failure to meet the expectation is disappointing. You gotta pick up your game, Fairfield. »

« Room is clean but some light were broken and worst service in breakfast. They did not refill anything and only single bread remaining till 0900 hours and last breakfast time is 0930 hours. »

« Hairdryer only operated on low. Elevator was questionable. It jerked and often landed lower than the floor creating a step & possible tripping hazard. Front desk gentleman was alone and very busy, but went above and beyond to offer help if needed. He was very apologetic about the wait checking in even though we were not overly concerned. »
