Taiwan: Flitterwochen

Alles war soweit gut !

Wir haben insgeaamt 5 Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht. Die Rezeption ist rund um die Uhr besetzt, daher war unser Check-in nach Mitternacht auch ohne Probleme möglich. Das Personal war stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage des Hotel ist gut, nur wenige Gehminuten von der Metro Station entfernt. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig, das Bad ausreichend groß, alles sauber und die Betten bequem. Es gab einen Wasserkocher, Safe und Kühlschrank im Zimmer sowieso einen Wasserspender bei den Aufzügen im Flur. Das Frühstück war größtenteils asiatisch geprägt, aber es gab auch Müsli, frisches Obst, Joghurt und Brot/Marmelade. Spiegelei, Omelett und Beef Noodle Soup wurden auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet. Einzig negativer Aspekt war die sehr kalt eingestellte Klimaanlage im Frühstücksraum, ansonsten können wir das Hotel absolut weiterempfehlen.

The staff was exceptionally attentive and the service overall was excellent. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the mattress and pillows were extremely firm, which made it difficult to sleep and left me with back pain in the morning. If sleep comfort is important to you, this might be something to consider before booking.

I Like the parking

Our stay at the Shangri-La Far Eastern Taipei was overall very enjoyable, although the hotel is clearly showing its age. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but would greatly benefit from a complete renovation. The furnishings feel somewhat dated and no longer fully match the standard one would expect from a luxury hotel of this category. The staff deserve special recognition. Every member of the team was exceptionally courteous, friendly, and eager to help throughout our stay. The outstanding service is undoubtedly one of the hotel's greatest strengths and made us feel truly welcome. There is, however, a noticeable difference when it comes to breakfast. The breakfast buffet in the main restaurant was disappointing. While the selection is extensive, the food itself is rather bland, uninspired, and lacking in creativity. In contrast, breakfast in the Horizon Lounge was excellent. Although the selection is much smaller, every item is of outstanding quality. Everything is fresh, carefully prepared, and delicious. If you have access to the Horizon Lounge, it is definitely the better choice for breakfast. Overall, the Shangri-La Far Eastern Taipei stands out for its exceptional service, spacious rooms, and the excellent breakfast in the Horizon Lounge. However, the hotel would greatly benefit from a refurbishment of its rooms and public areas to once again meet the high standards expected of the Shangri-La brand.
