« The convenience of being close to the event center wasn't worth the price of the stay. Double the price of other top rated Topeka hotels, rooms are clean but very outdated, wallpaper peeling off walls, bathtub old/stained. The rooms all being open to the center bar area makes it very noisy, paper thin walls, you could hear everything. The breakfast buffet was $12/person, and it had the same choices that every other hotel offers complementary. Very cool courtyard, but not worth it, wouldn't stay...

« My credit card was charged despite prepaying. In reviewing the folio emailed to me after checkout, they charged taxes which were already paid and documented as such on my initial booking receipt. There were no incidentals charged to the room, just a billing error on their part. When I contacted the property to resolve the overpayment/double charge, I was told they had a new system and the issue would need to be escalated to the manager. « I don't understand the average review rate... My room was strongly smelling cigarette even if it is supposed to be non-smoking room and it was not that clean. At the breakfast there were no more eggs and regular coffee. The only employee I saw seemed too busy to take care of all these details. The AC was so so. I understand it's under renovations but they don't even seem to try to make up for that. On the positive side it was quiet until about 7:30 when the construction workers started. ...

« One thing we didn’t like was that there are no “Do Not Disturb” signs to place on the door for housekeeping. We had to notify the housekeeper directly. Luckily we found her in the hallway to let her know. And hotel is located on a major street which has a lot of traffic noice and sirens until very late at night. »
