Grosses Ressort mit hoher Vielfalt an Themen-Restaurants - welche eine sehr gute Qualität und tlw. auch Unterhaltungswert (Sakura) haben. Das Personal ist nahezu durchgängig sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit - hervorheben können wir Carlos als Concierge, der stets hilfsbereit zur Verfügung stand und einen angenehmen Aufenthalt ermöglicht hat - Kundenservice par excellence. Bei anderen Mitarbeitern standen tlw. Sales im Vordergrund. Zu berücksichtigen ist die (tlw. laute) musikalische Unterhaltung bis in die Nacht. Die Auswahl und Qualität beim Frühstück ist recht gut, allerdings auf Buffet beschränkt. Mittagessen recht überschaubar und erst nach 12:30 Uhr in nur zwei der Restaurants (ansonsten auch in den Snack Bars). Die Anlage ist grundsätzlich sehr gut gepflegt, überaus grün und sehr weiträumig. Die Gebäude bedürfen einer Auffrischung (tlw. durchgerostete Pfeiler), sind ansonsten gut ausgestattet. Empfehlenswert sind die Rooftop Suiten, welche mehr Ruhe und Platz bieten.

The beach was nice, although be prepared to get harassed every 5 mins by people selling stuff on the beach. Overall service was terrible and the food was really bad. And typically I’m fairly easy to please. Staff is very apathetic and unprepared. Good luck getting room service delivered with anything less that 4-5 calls. And god help you if you injure or cut yourself. I had to ask 10 different staff members where I can get a bandaid and antiseptic, all giving me shrugs. Even the front desk didn’t know. Eventually a woman at guest services pulled one from a small stash in her drawer. I am shocked this is a “4-star” resort. The whole thing feels a “movie set” of a resort — looks the part when you squint from a distance, but inspect any aspect closely and you’ll see there’s no substance.

The property was beautiful. Be ready to put on your walking shoes. The property is huge. There are multiple pools and a beach located on site. The food was good. Staff was friendly and always cleaning the property. The property is 45 minutes from the airport so, book transportation ahead of time.

Great property overall. Stayed at the adults side. Their service was great. If they approach you with a ‘welcome package’; politely decline…. They’re selling you on their vacation club program. Pools are great, and they have activities to keep you entertained throughout your stay (volleyball, tennis, darts, bingo, archery). It wasn’t busy season, so we were able to make reservations at their restaurants that require them. Nothing special about the food, but no complaints about it either. The resort is located far from the main area and other resorts (about 1.5 hour drive to La Romana), so you’re stuck on the property, unless you book excursions. We were only there for four days; then we took a cruise with Norwegian from La Romana for 4 days sailing to Miami with a stop in Puerto Plata. If you’re looking to relax for a number of days, this may be the resort for you.

Beautiful property, great entertainment at the pool, pools were all very clean, plenty of chairs available at all times of the day by the pool. The beach was rocky however the lagoon on the far side was fantastic and so clear. Juan Carlos at the pool was the Best!!! So personable and you could truly tell he enjoyed his job. Food was good and drinks were awesome. Many of the staff could use some training on what hospitality is about from the staff that are extremely good at it. We only experienced one night where our ceiling was leaking (pretty badly) and had difficulty with the front desk addressing the problem. Multiple calls where no one answered and walking to the lobby multiple times to get someone to help us with this. Katrina, at guest services, the next morning was amazing and very apologetic for what we had experienced and Alexander was always around making sure we were happy and having an amazing time. Overall we had a wonderful time.

Great weather and food. Rooms had poor air conditioning that left a musty smell to clothes and couldn’t dry in the room. It was one resort shared restaurants with children, therefore not completely adult only except two pools and 1 buffet. Most a la carte restaurants took over 2 hours to serve the main dish. No group activities on the beach and very rocky beach, high waves. Overall 3.5/5, wouldn’t go back.

Is a family resort with a small Adult only section. A lot of unique amenities like multiple restaurants but appeared insufficient staff to support everything they wanted to do (1 1/2 - 2hr wait for dinners after arrival). General buffet was quite good. Things like mini-bar service was hit or miss, members in my group would get each day, others not for many days. Simply trying to do too much and not fully delivering on most. Gift shop had to be the most expensive shop I've ever visited in my many travels (like $50 US for spray sunscreen or $2 US for two individual Halls (not packages). Location is quite isolated from other resorts/areas, so don't expect to leave/explore. The rooms were nice and well serviced, excellent beds and items like portable steamers for clothes. Overall, not bad but could improve by limiting the restaurants/offerings so that the ones offered were well staffed/operated rather than multiples that don't really meet demand and/or appropriate levels of service.

Supposed to be adults only, and that was not the case, kids everywhere, and only one restaurant was no kids allowed. We have kids, and needed a brake and be around adults only. Entertainment and activity’s(never on time, and had no idea what to do) were not good at all, except the magic show that was great. Food was limited, and the worse part of the trip is the push for Membership(time share) and then after refusal, the rest of the vacation was really in your face that your not a member(even for the towels, they make you go to a different area to get one, because your not a member). The room and restaurants had a really bad smell from mold like smell. I would never go back to any of the properties for this resort.

Overall the only reason I give this property more than 1 star is solely because of the staff at the beach bars. Marckendry in particular was amazing! Everything else about this resort just falls short. For a resort that markets itself as a 5 star, everything about it is embarrassing for that claim. At first glance the buildings are awesome and have amazing details. But then look closely and you’ll find mold and plaster crumbling and peeling away in literally every building. Our room was the royal master suite which you would think would be one of the nice rooms, you certainly pay for it that way, but the finishing work in the rooms is disastrous, tile work in the bathrooms is honestly a joke, the jetted hot tub outside was a glorified bathtub that was barely lukewarm. The room has no ventilation system so it’s musky and mildew smelling all the time. The AC barely worked. Toilets broke and needed fixing. For a resort that is only a few years old, the state of the grounds and buildings is horrific. Whatever you do if you’re unlucky enough to book a stay here and they give you the red banded bracelet with the privilege banner on it, do not let random resort workers in white suits talk to you about their “presentation”. At the end of the day it’s nothing more then a poor sales pitch to spend $20,000 over five years buying what’s essentially a time share in the H10 group of hotels. Save your time and money. If they ask just say no. Overall don’t recommended and won’t return

This place actually deserves a 1 star but because of how good the food was it was an extra star. The room service was really slow we waited 2 hours. The safe in the room broken down 2 tons even with a brand new safe it still stopped working. Their “premium membership” presentation took up most of our day trying to sell something I didn’t want or need. Even trying to show competitor rates right in front of us expedia had better rates than the scam they tried to sell us. The pillows had suspicious stains on them, one of the toilet seats was broken. The glass door for the shower and the one for the toilet were switched so anytime I used the shower the bathroom floor was cover in water. If this place was recently built they rushed and did not care about quality. There was also a water leak from the ceiling running down the wall.

I do recommend going to stake house for the most delicious stake night. However, we had to wait about an hour without having even appetizers at the restaurant. This was exactly the only downside I can see in the El Baso resort, otherwise staffs are welcoming and friendly. Activities are interesting and other restaurants and bars are super. Again, have something before going to the Stake House restaurant otherwise being hungry may ruon your night there. I hope managers see my comment and better plan for the Stake House.
