Already knowing the Keswick area well we knew Portinscale would suit us well - outside the bustle of Keswick but within easy walking distance down a nice path, and easy access to local country walks. The cottage was immaculate in both cleanliness and decor - and well equipped - with off street parking. Our adult daughter had the 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds ( would have been a perk if was 2 singles which could be set up as a King ...

„Accommodation clean and tidy. Keys a little hard to find at the beginning for entry as there are many 'front porches'. In a nice area with mountain views and easy access to Whinlatter and Keswick and surrounding area.“

„Brandlehow is the perfect place to relax and refuel. The location is superb, nestled in the woodlands and on the shores of Derwentwater. Most days began with a coffee overlooking the lake, watching the sunrise and the cloud disperse. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and of course a lot of kayaking right from the door. „This is our 4th stay at Gretaside, and it was excellent as usual. The position of the flat is excellent for going off walking all day, returning home either via the chip shop for a lazy night in, or coming home, getting changed and going for a night out in Keswick. Unfortunately there is a slight issue with a leaky kitchen window, which has got worse since our last visit, but it doesn’t spoil our stay, or put us off returning, but it does look a little unsightly.
