We stayed during their soft opening. I have been to hotels with soft openings and to Cancun / vicinity many times. I was extremely disappointed in the condition of the hotel. There was dust from Sheetrock work everywhere. The restaurants, rooms and elevators smelled like fresh Sheetrock work that was drying and sanded. It was a construction zone everywhere. The bottom of your shoes were covered in dust constantly. The foot wash at the beach was not operational so guests had to wash their feet in the pool creating a sand pile in the pool. Very disappointing and shocking for what we paid for a supposed 5 star resort. We stayed at SLS last year during their soft opening and it was 100% completed and was a true 5 star hotel. Bottom line - the resort was not ready for guests but they opened anyway. I paid full price for the resort - very disappointed.
