« Nous avons énormément apprécié ce séjour dans cet hôtel SPA historique de la merveilleuse ville de Buxton. Tout était parfait. La chambre était très confortable, très bien équipée. La partie SPA est très vaste avec 3 bassins dont un a un accès extérieur, 3 saunas différents, un haman. Enfin le petit déjeuner continental et/ou anglais est excellent. Nous recommandons fortement cet établissement. »

« It’s an old building with wonky floors and doorways which is charming in its own way. There are clear signs of ongoing maintenance that will improve the look & feel. Breakfast was delicious and the staff worked very hard, both check in and check out were a breeze and staff super friendly. The only draw back was the creakiest bed ever, the slightest twitch from one of us and we were both awake. It was a 1 night stay so not a real issue but couldn’t have put up with it for a longer stay. »

« Really really bad. Dirty, expensive, poorly maintained and had hardly any sleep due to kids screaming and playing knock a door run until 11pm. Wouldn't recommend - we travel theme parks around the world and stay in on site accommodation regularly. This was by far the worst. »

« The hostess at this property was so helpful and accommodating. It is located in a very beautiful area not too far from town. There is ample parking. Originally, we had a minor issue with our room. I reported it to the hostess. She graciously upgraded our room to a better one at no additional charge. The room we slept in was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean. The bed was very comfortable. Additionally, the hotel has a pretty good Indian restaurant. We had a delicious dinner...

« Beautiful property and decor however the main let down was the service of the staff in all areas of the hotel. We experienced poor service at breakfast, the bar, and reception. Staff seemed so disinterested it really made the overall stay unpleasant. »

« From checking in to checking out the experience was first class. The staff were warm and welcoming with a professional and friendly attitude. « Room was adequate, the heated towel rail was on the other side of the bedroom wall so the bedroom was uncomfortably hot, even at night - but the wife preferred this. The bed was quite firm and a good size. It was difficult to view the TV screen from the settee on the back wall. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffees were plentiful - not so much biscuits. Full English, plus cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee refills welcome. »

« We stayed in a beautiful hive which was nicely done and the hotel itself was beautiful. We were disappointed not to have a bath or to be able to use any the sauna facilities and that whole building seemed to be in the midst of renovation. We were also surprised that breakfast wasn’t included and that when we ordered English breakfasts we didn’t get any toast and when we asked for some were then charged £2.50 per slice. I feedback when we departed that I was not impressed but nothing was done...

« Firstly, the only reason I haven't given this hotel a terrible score is because of the staff. They were friendly, welcoming and did their best to help. Unfortunately, The Devonshire Arms was a real disappointment considering the £180 we paid for one night. I genuinely wouldn't recommend paying more than £100 per night. The photos on the website make the hotel look much better than it actually is, and I wish we'd travelled a little further and booked elsewhere. The room was clean, but...

« I highly recommend this hotel. Very friendly and professional staff. Every member of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. An excellent choice of breakfasts included in the price. The restaurant was excellent in the evenings. The location is fantastic with wonderful views of the beautiful Peak countryside. »
