« Situé dans une rue calme à proximité de la gare et près de la grande artère menant au Palais Impérial, au Château et aux temples principaux, ce ryokan est très agréable, bien que le tarif soit élevé, mais Kyoto est une ville chère, surtout à la période du Sakura ou à la Golden Week. Gentillesse de l'accueil, dans un anglais assez basique mais peu de ryokans ont un personnel parlant l'anglais. Il y a un grand contraste entre les chambres assez impersonnelles et le rez de chaussée typique...

« lili kyoto is not a typical hotel. It is small — three units on the ground floor, probably about the same on the floor above (I didn’t take the elevator up to check). It is totally unstaffed; to get in the front door you must obtain a code from the owner/manager. I got mine by having a nice lady in the Kyoto railway station tourist office call the owner/manager, who promptly emailed instructions. The front “lobby” and hallway are unheated. There is no breakfast buffet, no vending machines, none...

The property is near several convenience stores and was walking distance to the train station as well as some major sight seeing locations. Clean and tidy and loved the bathroom in the evening for a relaxing bath. »
